Q: Why should I choose eNovativePiano?

Q: I am a beginner. Is eNovativePiano right for me?

A: eNovativePiano is designed for students who have some basic musical knowledge but have little or no piano experience. You will need to have basic reading skills (at least one clef) and basic counting skills when you start, and the desire to learn to play the piano.

Q: Will eNovativePiano eliminate the need for a teacher?

A: eNovativePiano is not intended to replace a teacher.  It functions as a compliment to an existing curriculum as well as provides new teachers with a model curriculum.

Q: Will eNovativePiano replace my textbook?

A: eNovativePiano is a complete curriculum and may be thought of as an online "textbook."  It provides all the necessary materials for instruction. However, it also makes a wonderful enhancement to existing curricula and textbooks, by providing supplemental resources.

CURRICULUM

Q: Is eNovativePiano an online course? 

eNovativePiano provides a curriculum and resources for use by students and teachers and is suitable for use as an online piano textbook in any online course.

Q: How do the levels work?

A: Each level corresponds to one semester of study. However, you might find that a different pacing is more appropriate to your needs. The levels are divided into "eNovations" which are equivalent to chapters. Each "eNovation" concept consists of smaller topics and each of these topics is organized around drills and applications. The drills provide the basic tools needed for success in practical applications such as reading, harmonization, improvisation, etc.

Q: Will I learn to read music?

A: The reading drills are well developed and systematically designed in each level of our curriculum. Learning aids such as timed flashcards and animated drills serve as additional tools to help you gain proficiency in reading.

Q: Will I learn to play by ear?

A: eNovativePiano aims to promote music literacy.  It emphasizes aural development as an integral part of a sound musical foundation and education.
